I have worked with a large number of publications in my
time as a prepress technician, in various languages,
formats, and programs. I have scanned and cleaned more than
200 page booklets for the southern california jewish
communities; adjusted color and trapping for upscale
real-estate magazines; converted pagemaker documents
utilizing RGB vector artwork to spot color pdfs; as well as
producing files and artwork in over 20 languages.
Experience working in a multilingual environment has
provided me with an acute idea of what problems can occur
with fonts and character sets for each language. Chinese,
Japanese, Korean, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Russian, Yiddish,
Arabic, Malayalam, Polish as well as Spanish each have
their possible problems, and solutions for working around
those problems.
I have also designed newspapers and periodicals for a
number of local organizations. Most frequently I design the
newsletter for the National Guard Association of Illinois,
called the Prairie Minuteman;
Annual tour books for Mid-America Tours, Ads
for Suburban Focus Magazine,
the Village of Hazel
Crest and Rich Township newsletters.
Many samples of these publications can be found here, as well as samples of
Ads for Suburban Focus.
